Learn to create beautiful one-of-a-kind monotype prints using a Gel plate and acrylic paint with the collection of leaves, grasses and seed heads as well as some lovely varieties of seaweeds provided.....(You can also bring along leaves and other botanical items from your own garden that you like the shape or form of to use in your prints).
Helen will guide you through step-by-step processes of the various methods of paint application and layering techniques. You will leave this workshop having produced a variety of prints and cards that stand alone or can be developed further in mixed media projects.........

Portrait Group
Capturing a persons likeness in a portrait is a very rewarding and unique experience, one hat strengthens the human connection. Drawing from life sharpens the eye, which in turn builds confidence, and sparks inspiration. The workshops explore the practice in a relaxed and welcoming space. You are free to draw or paint in your own contemporary style, whether it's quick sketches or more detailed studies, guidance and helpful advice is readily available from the workshop co-ordinator if you need support, you are free to draw or paint in your own contemporary style. The workshops are open to all skill levels, no previous experience necessary. Bring your own materials, easels available.
Alternate Fridays and Sundays in the art room at the Vancouver Art Centre.
