Life Drawing Group
This is not a teaching class, rather it is a free and easy group of individuals who pursue their own way of interpreting the human form. Help and guidance is always available to anyone who requests it.
Sessions are structured with models posing for different durations of time, beginning with short three minutes poses that allow for loosening up and expressive mark making. Poses of ten to fifteen minutes then follow, leading up to a coffee/tea break, after which longer poses allow for more in-depth study.
Participants usually bring their own preferred drawing materials, charcoal, pastels, inks, or watercolour paints. Alternatively there is always butchers paper and charcoal available to use.
Standing easels are provided, or if you prefer, you can sit at a table. Please bring your own table top easel.
Come along and have a go, you will be made very welcome.

Watercolour Group
Watercolours are a delightful medium that can be used in a variety of ways.
Whilst observing the two fundamental principles of wet-on-wet and wet-on-dry, other mediums can be used with watercolour paints to good effect, such as pencils, gouache, pastels and ink.
The group includes beginners through to experienced water colourists. Some weeks participants enjoy working on their own projects, whilst at other times they focus on particular themes, whilst sharing knowledge, skills and techniques.
Non members may attend a few sessions before joining as a member.

Plein Air Oil Painting Group
The en-plein-air oil painting group meets on a Tuesday morning either weekly or fortnightly, depending on weather conditions.
Painting en-plein-air is not for the faint hearted; changing light, equipment failure, wildlife and difficult terrain, make this a challenging pastime, but lots of fun.
Be prepared to explore and capture on canvas a variety of sea and landscapes with the occasional cow, sheep or wild animal wandering into the view.
The morning finishes with a welcome cup of coffee/tea in a nearby cafe, where the group discuss the mornings activities and plan their next outing.
To check on dates and venues, please contact the co-ordinator, Chris Donnell.
